We spent a pleasant afternoon and evening on the Zambesi River.
The White-fronted Bee-eaters were in evidence along the banks, and we saw
numerous colonies of them

We stopped for a while on this island in the middle of the Zambesi.
During the breeding season, June to September, this sandbank
is the home to thousands of Carmine Bee-eaters. The sand has a
peculiar texture
and makes a squeaking noise when you walk on it. Kenneth was our
local guide.
The far bank is Zambia.
Another glorious sunset.
