PENGUINS OF THE WORLD
 

There are six penguins belonging to the Eudyptes genus.
These are characterised by the shaggy yellow crest.

SNARES PENGUIN
(Eudyptes robustus)

One of the set of twelve penguin stamps issued
jointly by New Zealand and Ross Dependency in 2001

The Snares Penguin only breeds on Snares Island, south of New Zealand.
 It is a medium sized penguin, standing 60 cm tall and weighing 3 to 4 kgs
The breeding population is estimated to be around 20 000
