A medium sized bird (75 cm to 85 cm) found mainly in the S Atlantic and Indian Oceans, including the Tristan da Cunha group. It is a common non breeding visitor to SA waters especially during the winter. Food source is mainly cephalopods but is also attracted to trawlers for offal
