| A fairly large bird (45 cm to 56 cm) with broad wings. It breeds in the Mediterranean region and is a non breeding visitor to the Atlantic Ocean. A fairly common summer visitor to south and west coasts of SA, and a rarer visitor to Natal. It feeds off fish, plankton, cephalopods and krill. | |
