A small bird (15 cm to 19 cm) mainly found in the Atlantic, Indian and southern oceans. It breeds on many islands in the sub-Antarctic and migrates to the north. The commonest storm petrel in SA waters throughout the year. A gregarious bird it often follows ships for scraps and lives off krill, cephalopods, and offal
