| A medium bird (about 64 cm) found throughout Africa, Madagascar, southern Eurasia to Australia. A fairly common resident throughout South Africa it is usually solitary and is an active hunter with an ungainly gait. It lives off small fish and frogs. The nest is a platform of sticks. | |
