A large goshawk (36 cm to 41 cm) found in Africa south of the Sahara. In southern Africa it is a common resident confined to the east, south and north. Usually heard before seen as it clicks while flying, it is found in pairs, normally in dense indigenous forest. The main food source is birds and small mammals.
