A medium sized bird (45 cm to 55 cm) found in Africa south of the Sahara. In southern Africa it is confined to the north east parts and the western Caprivi and is a scarce intra African breeding migrant. It is a solitary bird eating other birds (mainly doves) but also small goshawks
