A tiny falcon (20 cm) found in two populations, one in the north western parts of southern Africa (Namibia, Botswana) and the other in East Africa. It is a fairly common resident although somewhat nomadic. It inhabits arid savannah and preys on large insects or small lizards.  Generally found living in the enormous nests constructed by the Sociable Weavers (as illustrated in the stamp)
