| A small bird (29 to 30 cm) breeding in southern Europe, central Asia and China, migrating to Africa and India. In southern Africa it is an abundant migrant which is absent from the drier west. It is found in the open grassveld mainly near towns and feeds off insects and less often small birds. | |
