Introduced species
A medium sized bird (31 to 38 cm) found in Southern Europe, Central Asia and China which has been introduced to South Africa. It is now only found on Robben Island (off Cape Town).   It inhabits semi arid stony scrub and lives off seeds, leaves and insects
