| A medium bird (33 to 35 cm), a near endemic being found in southern Africa and Angola. It is found in the drier western highveld, across the Kalahari to Ovamboland. It is a fairly common resident inhabiting open grassland and dry savannah. It is usually found in pairs or small coveys and lives off bulbs, seeds, shoots and berries. | |
