| A medium sized bird ( about 33 cm) found in southern USA to northern Argentina and Chile. It is a windblown vagrant to Southern Africa including a recent sighting in Southern Natal. It inhabits vegetated margins of estuaries, marshes and lagoons. It lives off insects, spiders, frogs and grass seeds. | |
