A large bird ( 78 to 95 cm) found in the drier parts and southern Africa and south west Angola. It is a near endemic uncommon resident in the area and inhabits dry open plains from grasslands to desert. It is a solitary bird living off insects, seeds, small invertebrates and plant material.
