| A small bird (about 15 cm) found in Africa south of the Sahara. In southern Africa it is an uncommon localised resident confined to the North and East. It is a solitary bird inhabiting lagoons, lakes and vleis. It lives off insects, crustaceans, mollusks and plant material. | |
