| A fairly large tern (41 to 46 cm), which breeds in the western Palearctic and North America. It migrates to Africa and the northern Indian Ocean. It is a common migrant which is highly gregarious and inhabits marine shores and estuaries. It feeds off fish, worms and crustaceans. | |
