AFRICAN MOURNING DOVE

Also known as Mourning Dove (6) or Mourning Collared Dove

(Streptopelia decipiens)

A medium bird (about 30 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara. In southern Africa it is a locally common resident confined to the tropical north and north east. It inhabits lowland riverine acacia, fringes of forests and cultivated lands. It lives off seeds and fallen grain.
