A medium bird (about 40 cm) with a long tail. It is found in Africa from Senegal to Somaliland and in India and China. In southern Africa it is a locally common introduced bird found in Sordwana Bay and Durban. It is noisy and gregarious and is found in woodland. It eats fruit, grain, seeds and flowers.
