A medium bird (29 to 30 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara. It is a fairly common breeding migrant in southern Africa, found throughout except in the drier west. It is solitary and secretive and inhabits forest edges and woodlands. It lives off insects (mainly caterpillars).
