A small bird (17 to 18 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara and in Southern Arabia. In southern Africa it is a fairly common breeding intra African migrant, absent from the drier west. It is a solitary shy bird, inhabiting edges of riverine forests and thickets. It eats caterpillars and other insects.
