A medium bird ( 38 to 44 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara, and southern Arabia. In southern Africa it is found in the south and east. It is a common resident and inhabits riverine and coastal bush. It is usually solitary or in pairs and feeds off insects, small frogs and reptiles.
