A small bird (32 cm) with a long tail found from South Africa to Angola and Tanzania. It is a common resident, inhabiting savanna, riverine bush and gardens. It is gregarious (small flocks) mainly eating fruit

This stamp is from a recent "Birds of Central America" set issued by Guyana.  Mousebirds (six species) are endemic to Africa, and the Red-faced Mousebird is found in South Africa and north to Malawi, Tanzania and Zaire.  Two of the other birds in the set are also African birds.
