A medium bird ( 29 to 34 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara. In southern Africa it is an uncommon to fairly common resident confined to the south east, east and north east. It is usually solitary or in pairs, and inhabits evergreen and riverine forest. It mainly eats insects.
