A medium bird (about 20 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara and southern Arabia. It inhabits the northern and north eastern areas of southern Africa, and is locally fairly common. It inhabits well developed woodland near water and is either solitary or in pairs. It eats insects and lizards.
