A smallish bird (21 to 22 cm), found from the extreme northern Mozambique provinces to Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zaire. It is a locally uncommon resident in Southern Africa, inhabiting thickets and riverine forests. It is usually found in pairs and eats flying insects.
