A smallish bird (about 18 cm), found in in Africa from the Limpopo River and Angola to Zaire and Uganda. It is a locally common resident in central Zimbabwe and Mocambique. It inhabits woodland and evergreen forest and is usually solitary or in pairs. It eats ants and termites.
