| A smallish bird (about 14 cm), is endemic to South Africa. It is a highly localised resident found in south eastern Transvaal and adjacent areas at levels above 1700 m. Estimates of less than 5000 birds render it the most threatened Lark in the world. Its habits are poorly known. | |
