A large flycatcher (19 to 22 cm), distributed from South Africa through to Kenya. It is a common resident in Southern Africa, found in the eastern parts of the region. It inhabits woodland and forest edges. It is often found in association with the Fork-tailed Drongo and feeds of insects and small fruits.
