A medium bird (16-17 cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara. It is an uncommon local resident of the eastern Zimbabwe plateau and adjacent Mocambique, inhabiting Brachystegia woodland. It is usually solitary or in pairs, and eats insects and seeds.
