SOUTHERN AFRICAN BIRDS ON STAMPS

 This site specializes in stamps featuring Southern African Birds, more particularly those birds that appear 
in "Roberts Birds of Southern Africa".  Nearly 7 200 stamps have been issued with Southern African birds
 on them.  The majority of these stamps are detailed here, together with numerous stamps
 from African countries featuring non Southern African birds.

I have now collected 589 different SA birds on stamps (possible 591 issued)

One of the new issues from South Africa's rather shambolic programme for 2007
 is the International Polar Year featuring an Emperor Penguin,
 which has been incorrectly named as a King Penguin
Two of the birds in Namibia's weavers issue have the English named transposed

 I am still building my collection and am very happy to swap sets
from the SA countries with collectors from other parts of the world.
